“Well, it’s a marvelous night for a moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
Neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And I’m trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
And all the nights magic seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush
Can I just have one a more moondance with you, my love
Can I just make some more romance with a-you, my love…”
That infamous song by Van Morrison inspired this splendid Victorian robe in a delicious shade of true 1950s aqua-mint with showy botanical lily floral motifs in exotic colors creeping down the panels. Little white pom poms dance along the collar to give depth and dimension and two longer length belt ties are ready to wrap your fabulous curves.
I never like to say that something made from a fabric that’s more than 50 years old is “perfect” or in “excellent” condition, but this is some of the most beautiful vintage chenille fabric we’ve worked with in a VERY long time. It is sumptuously tufted with dense chenille lines, the botanical motifs are plush and intricate, and the weight of this is just right for a robe of this style. Honestly the only thing I even see is a small mark where it looks like old factory dye (old bedspreads were marked at the factory for tufting and motif placement).
Flowing, fabulous and with true Victorian styling throughout right down to the puff sleeves and banded cuffs, this baby is ready to grace your gorgeous figure for one last moondance……….
Though the pattern used for this piece is cut to an XL, bear in mind that’s vintage sizing which was always much smaller. Our recommendation is this style would fit up to a modern L, not XL as the vintage pattern suggests.

All of our handcrafted chenille robes are designed to tell a story using one-of-a-kind textiles from long ago. As such, we incorporate natural age distressing and other “flaws” intentionally into the finished piece and do not specifically make note of them.
Rest assured, we select only premium quality fabrics in good to excellent vintage condition to use in our designs. Virtually all the chenille we work with is 100% cotton or less commonly, a softer cotton blend.
❃vintage items are never perfect – but they display their imperfections perfectly!
