Ooh la la…this beauty is feminine for sure in a vivid pink colorway, but she’s no shrinking violet! She’s got some definite sass to her that will make a bold statement in your boudoir. I’ve got one of these in white with pink designs on one of our beds right now and it is definitely a favorite. The center motif on this resembles an old Victorian tapestry design with its intricate tufting.
Every time I look at this one though, one thing comes to mind. Legally Blonde. Elle Woods played by the always fabulous Reese Witherspoon. Can’t you just picture this in the fictional Elle Wood’s bedroom? Sorry, I just can’t help it!
As far as the color, this was another difficult one to capture, and I am going to call photo #2 the closest to an in person match. Any time you have a more fuchsia or magenta-shade as this one is, the camera too often seems to pick up bluish undertones. This is quite vivid in person and I did not notice any fading to the colors. I would say the main accent color around the center scrollwork is like a maraschino cherry. If you are concerned about the color, please let me know and I can get more photos in different lighting for you to avoid any disappointment.
This one is identical to my other spread and both only fit on a full bed because of the fitted skirting. Because this is true vintage, I recommend a standard size full bed as well, rather than some of the huge pillow top mattresses they are manufacturing nowadays.
I did not spot any major damages to call on this one; as I always always say though, if you look hard enough on anything vintage/antique, you’re going to find some various flaws for sure simply because of age/previous usage.
